Things went up on a Tuesday this week at the HOLO in Ridgewood. Hip Hop curators and fans gathered for a #10Winters10Summers concert presented by Skeemaholic Society. The event was hosted by The Trophy Life, Pow TV and Juss Fly. When I arrived, I was pleasently greeted and handed a media pass. The show began about 5 minutes later with Coolest Mell as the opening act. He presented the crowd with some conscious acapella freestyles and dope original music. Following his performance came Pretty Pitcher, Fly Boy Dada, True Story and Tone Wave who all presented some really great sets. The tone took a slight turn when a female took the stage. Akilah Brock presented the audience with confidence while performing songs about female empowerment and overcoming struggle. Rapper, Dye B was up next bringing tons of energy to the stage setting the tone for all performances there after. Headliners Cig 40, Boogz Boogetz, Manolo Rose and Kash Juliano all connected with the audience and had the crowd going crazy. Gangtivity arrived late making me miss my uber but their Rockstar performance was well worth the wait. Special shoutout to the DJ Ana Slay who kept the energy going inbetween performances.
